Borderlands

Fri Nov 6, 2009, 6:47 PM
Some of you may have heard of this new game that came out around my birthday, which was fifteen days ago. Seriously, I've spent nearly every day either doing school work or playing Borderlands. It was THAT addicting. Now, I'm just so burnt from school that I really don't want to do anything today... or for a while.
I started some new deviation to do, but I ended up hating it because only the first part of it was actually good and the rest of it didn't fit at all (of course I'm talking about literature; I hardly ever draw). If blegh was a word, I would use it to describe the slump I'm in. Not agonizing, but just blegh.
Of the least importance, I just made a Facebook, and within two minutes of creating it I recieved five friend requests, and now I'm up to eighteen in less than a day. Sure I know most of them, but what is the point of such a website? I hear everyone talking about Farmville, a game you can play that is supposed to be more addicting than it is fun. I immediately became a fan of "Not playing farmville" if anyone knows what that means. In fact, if anyone else knows anything about facebook, please tell me. I'm pretty much lost.
Once more, with feeling: blegh and goodbye.

Deep Creek

Sat Aug 15, 2009, 4:52 PM
For the past week or so, I've been on vacation to a beautiful place called Deep Creek. If you like water and trees, this is the place for you, since that's practically all you see (of course there are more spiders per person than there are spiders in the world, but that doesn't bother me much). I rode on an inner tube most of the time and got knocked around so much that my head finally began to hurt (well, that was after I bounced off the water--I didn't even go under, I just bounced off the top of it and then layed at the surface--in the most awesome wipe-out that my mother neglected to capture on video). Other than that, I got to ride a jet-ski and tried my hand at water skiing. The latter didn't work so well, despite me trying to stand five to seven times in a row and still failing.
Now that I'm back, I have less than two weeks to find my french book and finish two summer projects... (it's just like last year! Damn you John Stienbeck for making Grapes of Wrath so long!)
I really can't bring myself to do anything right now. As soon as I got home at 2:00 in the afternoon (that is, 14:00 for those of you that run on the wierd time scheme) I really did nothing until some pizza came at 7:00 (19:00) and then here I am now.
I really don't feel like doing anything right now....

  • Mood: Lazy
  • Listening to: An unknown song that I apparently downloaded
  • Reading: The Bible, piles upon piles of textbooks
  • Watching: Homestarrunner and IGN videos
  • Playing: Delete every old save file on games we hardly play
  • Eating: I honestly don't know
  • Drinking: Finally purified water

Guns, Summer Work, and Angels?

Mon Aug 3, 2009, 5:54 PM
Recently because I had nothing better to do and my mom was away for a day, my dad took me and my brother to a shooting range. After about 30-40 shots, I hit the piece of paper about 13-14 times (If I only counted the target circle, there would hardly be anything). My dad hit it about 17 or 18 and my little brother got 4. Unfortunately, we could not use the shotgun since we forgot the key to it at our house, but still the pistols were cool (loading the magazines, not so much, since you have to put bullet by bullet into the clip before you put it into the gun).
Praise God, since I've finally finished my paper on the Crucible! Now, I need to start my US history work (said to take three weeks, which is about all the time I have left before summer is over) and my French work. Unfortunately, I lost my copy of Le Petit Prince, which we were supposed to read. If anybody has one (mainly you, Jordan, since everybody else who's my friend is from a different country) I'd love to borrow it.

Last night, I dreamt something pretty weird. There was an unveiling of a new pokemon game with only one new pokemon: a metal tentacool. Some dude dressed in an Ash Ketchum suit lead the demo, and then I was randomly at the zoo where an aligator was swimming in a shark tank with the limb of a fellow aligator in its mouth. Then my mind somehow managed to fit in a sequence where Led Zeppelin was a Christian band, and one of their songs was basically saying 'f-you demonic people,' but eloquently. If you're wondering where the angels come in, it's right after that.
Some song that I apparently dreamt about before (though before it had no words) now presented two lines of strange lyrics:
Songs... In the night-time
Angels... In the dark

The voice singing it was very soothing and the music accompanying it sounded a light sage green (if you can relate noises to colors, like I can. If not, then you'll have no idea what I'm talking about).
Does anybody else relate colors to sounds, really?

Is it Freedom?

It's summer again, and I was one of the few students who weren't freaking out in celebration over it. Sure, you get a break, but then you must go back again. I'm not saying that I won't enjoy myself, it's just that I see summer as the exact same since we have very time-consuming work (one of the assignments is said to take three weeks, since we have to read two whole textbooks).

Other than that, Assassins' Creed made me angry yesterday. During a mission where I had to steath-kill three people (that's it. Only three people), I kept failing for practically no reason. I'd kill one of the guys only to have the second stumble upon his dead body and have the mission say I've failed as I was just about to kill him too. Plus, there are retarded people all around you and will push you onto the ground, making it nearly impossible to remain hidden, therefore failing the mission on you. The best part was that one of these targets was on the roof, so I'd need to go out of hiding to reach him, only to figure out he was on another rooftop. Thankfully, I succeeded some half hour later and as a cause of that I enjoyed assassinating their leader a little too much.

Well, until next time, then?
