The low hum of an electric appliance sounded endlessly.

His display systems were working now, at least in his mind. A click of a light resounded, and with a beep a red, circular light slowly flashed in the middle of his robotic eye.

Everything looked blue from his right metal eye; it must be night, he thought. In his human eye he saw nothing, for it was closed with exhaustion. The hum annoyed him.

Suddenly he was awakened with a surprise upon his human left face and mouth.

'Get me out!' he yelled.

Please be aware that energy surge is temporary and is a result from adrenaline

Steam poured from the charger and his spine and right half disconnected. His left side had always been free, but it was attatched to his right too much. He felt weak without the energy from the outlet. In his mind there was only one single word: Rachael.

'Do I care?' he said weakly and blandly. He trudged along, limping for his right leg had not yet been charged. Down a deviation from his path, to the right he saw Rachael dancing and singing in a field, and that only. With a shift in his lense, however, the images dissapated as fog under sun. His left eye looked drearily there, wondering what the right was seeing.

Along the walls of compacted metal he ran his left hand, perhaps to see if he was capable of feeling. A rectangular object protruded from the near perfect edges, perhaps miles from the charge post. Though it only bumped him, it made a large enough cut for him to bleed for his entire left side was malnourished and of thin skin. By using his strong, robotic arm he wrenched the object from its post. It was a pictureframe. It did not matter what was on that picture or if there was even one at all; he only saw the face of Rachael. Again his left eye wanted something to gaze upon.

He limped forever, it seemed, until he came to a cliff. There he stood, looking into the blackness below. From the sky there came a blimp-shaped drop ship with a spotlight shining down from the center of its bottom. Beneath the cliff there were wrecks and garbage; the drop ship was to salvage any humans that were left. He saw it picking up a corpse and thought, why don't they get me? On the side of the drop ship were circular windows, three to be exact, and they were large and near enough that he could see the people in there. Some were fussing about the new adition, saying something about robots, maybe, and their stupidity. The one thing he remembered, though, of that moment was that his left eye saw Rachael, no doubt this time.

'Hey!' he yelled at the top of his lung. 'Take me, please! Oh, Rachael!'

The drop ship ignored him completely and sailed directly away from him in its search.

'No. No, that can't be. I'm still alive. I even have some human parts. Salvage me too!' It floated away until it could be seen no more. A ticking sound became clear when the confusion left the air. 'Oh my God! They're going to blow this place up!' For a second he drowned in fear, but that was only a second. 'Wait! Rachael's safe. She's safe!'

Overcharging can result in negative consequences

Then, the drone of the drop ship returned as it began to finish its sweeps, perhaps after a few hours. Throughout that wait, he could tell by the ticking that it was growing near detonation as he stood silently with a weak smile on the cliff. By an accident, almost, the drop ship flung its light towards him, and slowly moved in his direction. He fell on his knees in sorrowful desparation. 'No, please leave me. You won't make it.' No tears fell because his left had not recieved water in ages.
Power at 7%
The ship lowered its platform as he looked up to Rachael. She gazed down upon him with a surprised sadness, perhaps knowing the same simple death would reach her too. The ticking stopped with the most unwelcomed moment of morbid silence. He raised his hands in lamentation. No tears fell.

The whole burned and marred planet convulsed with red cracks and exploded.
Warning!
Extensive damage is being taken to the primary hull

Am I a hull, he thought. Yes I am.

From a seperate drop ship a child saw the explosion firsthand. 'Mum? Are we safe now? Are the bad trash-people gone?' 'Yes, yes they are.' Floating by the dropship was a jumbled mess of metal that resembled a head a spine and the stub of an arm. 'Mum! Look at that!' 'Oh, it's just a scrap. It'll burn up if it tries to land anywhere.' Throughout the recesses of the memory that was left in the hull, only Rachael and her song remained. An oily tear was shed on her behalf.

Wow, cool and sad story. His powerlevel reports really made the difference, as if they were stating a countdown to creat an expectation towards the end. I'm not sure if I'm beeing really clear... Think on the count down as having the same effect of a soundtrack in a movie.

I used it to more or less show how his state of being was going, and that's usually what a soundtrack does, fit with the mood. You make enough sense, though it would be better to be making dollars (excuse me, pun intended).

Right now, I would like to be masking euros and still be spending it in reais. Euro worths more than 3 times Reais... xD but dollars are also profiteable! :XD:

Euros are worth more than dollars, too now since one of our presidents in the past stopped backing our money with gold. If we had gold-backed dollars, then our money would be worth nearly the most as it was. The Euro is only worth so much because at one point, the sun never set on the British empire and because of all of those lands, a lot of gold is stockpiled under Big Ben (or so they say).

Actually, euro got nothing to do with the brittish gold, Since UK didn't accept the euro and keep working with it's own currency... ("£" Libra or Pounds, I think). But it may have something to do with all the other rich and old countries in europe, all the old monarchy used to have a lot of gold and treasures. Not only that, but the european economies progress in a more stable way, they take lesser risks than USA, have less profit but are rarely taken over by major crisis. But since they are old, they had the time to build themselves that way.

Yes and keep in mind the Marshall Plan where we gave support money to western European countries after WWII. That definitely helped (just look at the eastern countries of Europe, even east Germany, compared to the west). Furthermore, the US economy is built on the system of taking risks (though I do not fully condone this, it is what it is). Most people want to get rich and see the only way of doing that is by taking a risk (by starting a company, perhaps). Unfortunately, this risk-taking has gone too far when it was coupled with stupidity as our government praised the people who did not check for the ability to pay a loan on their house. Then it seemed like you'd get rich really quick through the housing market, so people started to buy five homes and improved them to sell them again. When it turned out that tons of people couldn't pay their loans whenever their short deals were gone (it went from say a 5% interest to a 15%, and then the people just couldn't do that since the 5% had been going on for so long that they built their schedule/budget around it).

And now I've lost my train of thought by the question in my mind: how is it that we always get into a discussion about some worldly issue every time we make a comment?

:iconinarispellborn:
Yeah, I remember the Marshall plan... It was intended to reconstruct the countries devastated by the WW. USA got deeply involved with the war, but except for pearl harbour, I don't recall any WW incident that occured in USA territory, so it wasn't damaged at all. I agree that many people in USA only seeks for high profits (and consequently high risks) but since it worked for many people, they always think it will work for them. And apart from that, even in crisis, many americans keep spending as much as they used when they were in a good economical period.

Maybe it's my fault? I have a friend that about every conversation I start with him we end up talking about music. :XD: I'm not sure if it's a sort of "safe zone" on wich I can talk without having as many restrictions as, for exemple, human feelings. I'm not good with understanding other peoples feelings, and even less good in feeling my own emotions. I'm frequently called as "freezer" by some of my friends. :XD: So I end up dealing with knowledge and rational talks, even though I'm not exactly a rational person.

Not really, since now most people have gotten into the bubble of saving everything, and so nobody gets paid for the products they make (loosely speaking).

Possibly, though with me I can usually bring up any random topic through another random topic, and in that case we both build upon that. Now, the emotions concept isn't too hard to understand. Though, what causes emotions, now that is a question.

:iconinarispellborn:
I guess it would be better if I said reading other peoples emotions. And with me, I just don't feel them in the intensity people expect me to do so, or at least don't react as much as espected. :XD:

Freezing economy is also another mistake. The previous stagnacy in the japanese economy happened because their economy depends on a high consumism, and the japanese people were saving their money instead of spending. Now Japan is facing a major crisis, a reflex of the american crisis with some regional colors (atomic missiles pointing at your face from korea doesn't really helps your image when you need foreign investments...)
